Choosability Canvas Formatter

Turn your completed canvas into a context file every other tool can use

21 June 2026

What It Is

The Choosability Canvas is visual. The AI tools that can help you use it aren't.

This skill bridges that gap. It walks you through each of the five steps of your canvas — Survey, Position, Orient, Communicate, Connect — collects what you've built, and produces a structured text document that captures your employer brand thinking in a format any other skill or prompt can read and work from.

You've done the hard work. This is the translation step.

When to Use It

After you've completed — or substantially completed — your Choosability Canvas. You don't need every section to be perfect, but you should have worked through the process in Becoming Choosable and have a sense of what's on your canvas before you start.

Run it once to create your context document. Update it when your canvas evolves.

What to Bring

Your canvas work, in whatever form you have it:

  • Written notes — paste them in directly when we reach that step
  • A filled-in document or template — same, paste when prompted
  • Verbal description — if it's in your head, just talk through it

You don't need to have everything written down. You do need to know what's on your canvas.

How It Works

The skill walks through all five steps in order. It tells you upfront what's coming so you're not surprised when you reach step four. For each step, it asks what you found and follows up if it needs more to complete the picture.

Step 1 — Survey Who you looked at as talent competitors, what each one emphasizes, what claims they make, and what evidence they use.

Step 2 — Position Which value bucket you landed on — Mission, Work Experience, or Reward — and specifically what that value looks like at your company.

Step 3 — Orient How you've honed that position through the SADR lens: what makes it Specific, Attractive, Different, and Real — not just as labels, but as concrete expressions.

Step 4 — Communicate How you're bringing the position to life — messages, channels, formats, and how your communication reflects the SADR principles.

Step 5 — Connect Which area of the Connect framework — Exposure, Contrast, Meaning, Proof — is your current focus, and what that looks like in practice.

What You'll Get

A structured markdown document — your Choosability Canvas in flat text form. Clearly labeled sections for each step. Everything the canvas captured, in a format you can paste into any other skill or prompt as your employer brand context.

Save it. Every time another skill asks for your brand canvas or EVP, this is what you share.

Important

This skill does not evaluate your canvas or suggest improvements. It collects and formats what you've already built. If you want your canvas pressure-tested, use the Skeptic Coach after you've run this.

If you haven't completed the Choosability Canvas process, work through Becoming Choosable first. This formatter assumes the work has been done.

To Start

The skill will open by explaining the five steps and then asking about your Survey. Just show up with your canvas and describe what you found — or paste your notes when prompted.
